Telecom Engineer (VoIP, SIP)

We're hiring a Telecommunication Engineer to join a fast-growing UK product company building an AI-powered platform used by thousands of customers.
 

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll own the company's communication infrastructure across voice, messaging, email, and WhatsApp channels while working closely with product and engineering teams on new features and integrations.
 

What you'll do

• Own and improve VoIP, SIP, SMS, email and WhatsApp communication infrastructure
• Configure and maintain providers such as Twilio, Vonage, Voximplant and similar platforms
• Design and optimize inbound/outbound call routing, IVR, transfers, recordings and business-hour logic
• Build integrations using REST APIs, webhooks and WebSockets
• Troubleshoot production issues across telephony and messaging channels
• Work closely with developers, QA and product managers during releases and incident resolution
• Support migration of newly acquired businesses into a unified communication platform
• Automate repetitive operational processes using scripts and AI tools
   

We're looking for

• Experience with VoIP, SIP, trunks and telephony routing
• Hands-on experience with Twilio, Vonage, Voximplant or similar providers
• Ability to troubleshoot production telecom issues
• Experience working with APIs, JSON, logs and webhooks
• Strong English communication skills
