The role
You own client relationships across a portfolio of SaaS accounts. You keep delivery on track, communication sharp, and act as the SEO and AI visibility expert your clients trust. This is a senior, client-facing role that blends account ownership, strategy, and hands-on quality control. You will not be writing every article yourself, but you will be the person who knows the strategy cold, briefs the team, reviews the work, and reports results in a way that ties to the client's growth goals.
What you'll do
- Own the client relationship. You are the primary point of contact for your accounts. You set expectations, run check-ins, handle escalations, and make sure clients feel the work is moving their pipeline.
- Drive SEO and AEO strategy. You build and maintain the roadmap for each account: keyword research, content planning, answer engine optimization, technical fixes, and AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini.
- Keep delivery on track. You coordinate writers, consultants, and support staff to hit deadlines and quality standards. You catch problems before the client does.
- Report on results that matter. You translate rankings, citations, and traffic into a story about revenue and pipeline, not just numbers on a dashboard.
- Stay ahead of the field. AI search changes fast. You keep current on how answer engines surface and cite sources, and you bring that thinking into client strategy.
What we're looking for
You have several years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally with SaaS or B2B clients. You understand both classic SEO and the newer mechanics of how AI answer engines pick and cite sources. You have managed client relationships directly and can hold a strategic conversation with a founder or marketing lead without notes. You write clearly, organize work well, and stay calm when timelines get tight. You are comfortable in a fully remote, async-friendly team and can run your own day.
Nice to have
- Experience with programmatic SEO, content operations, link building, or tools like Ahrefs is a plus. So is a track record of growing organic and AI-referred traffic for a brand you can point to.
Compensation and logistics
- Base salary is $36k to $45k USD depending on experience. On-target earnings reach $70k with performance bonuses. The role is fully remote.
