What We Do
Ten8 builds AI-native automation for freight logistics — a voice agent for carrier calls and rate negotiation, and an email pipeline for load board posting and compliance. Both are live, both are generating revenue, and both need an owner.
Why This Role
Voice AI and freight automation are among the fastest-moving areas in enterprise software. This is a high-visibility initiative with a paying customer already on it. Whoever takes this role will come out with rare, hands-on experience scaling production AI products — while the team around them handles the domain and the technology.
The Role
The initiatives are already running. The freight expertise and AI stack are already on the team. What's missing is someone to bring engineering discipline and structure — to take what exists and make it reliable, predictable, and continuously improving.
- Own delivery for both voice and email: releases, quality gates, production stability
- Build the improvement loop: customer feedback → root cause → tickets → release → regression testing
- Run sprints, unblock engineers, manage risk, track the right metrics
- Turn customer complaints into clear requirements and drive "what to build next"
Introduce and enforce delivery best practices — release management, quality gates, retrospectives
What You're Walking Into
- No real improvement loop exists yet. When something breaks, there's no tight path from incident to fix to verified regression test. That's your first project.
- Engineering is spending too much time on hotfixes. You'll help shift that ratio.
- Both workstreams lack a single accountable owner. That changes when you join.
Compliance and pipeline reliability have known gaps that need process, not workarounds.
You're a Fit If
- You've led delivery of technical products at a startup — AI background is a plus, not a requirement
- You write clear tickets, run tight sprints, and know how to hold engineers accountable without slowing them down
- You've managed customers through rough patches and owned the narrative
You bring structure to ambiguity without waiting to be told what to do
On Domain Knowledge
No freight, logistics, or AI experience required. The team covers both. What we need is someone who brings solid engineering delivery practices and applies them — fresh eyes are part of the value.
