About us

We are supporting a Berlin-based logistics technology product company that leverages data and AI to improve operational efficiency and deliver smarter experiences for drivers. The team is currently moving an already validated concept from research into a production-ready MVP that will become part of the existing product ecosystem.

You’ll work on a high-impact project involving geospatial data, machine learning, and real-world logistics challenges while collaborating closely with internal product, engineering, and data teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the data science and ML development process from research validation to a production-ready MVP.
  • Design, build, and improve data pipelines and ETL processes that feed machine learning models.
  • Work with positional, geospatial, and location-based datasets.
  • Develop, validate, and iterate on ML models that identify relevant locations and generate actionable insights.
  • Prepare models and pipelines for scheduled production execution.
  • Collaborate with internal data, product, and engineering teams to understand infrastructure, available data, and business requirements.
  • Translate high-level business objectives into technical implementation plans.
  • Make technical decisions independently while keeping stakeholders aligned.
  • Document assumptions, limitations, and handover materials for the internal team.
  • Ensure the solution can be scaled, improved, and integrated into the company’s existing product suite.

Requirements

  • Strong ownership mindset and ability to work autonomously with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or ML Engineering.
  • Proven experience building ML solutions from concept to MVP or production.
  • Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with common ML and data science libraries.
  • Solid experience with ETL processes, data pipelines, and model input pipelines.
  • Experience working with large-scale, imperfect real-world datasets.
  • Experience with positional, geospatial, mobility, logistics, or location-based data.
  • Practical experience deploying or preparing ML models for production environments.
  • Strong understanding of model evaluation and the trade-offs between accuracy, performance, and business value.
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders, clarify requirements, identify blockers, and drive initiatives forward.

Nice to have

  • Experience in logistics, transportation, mobility, route optimization, delivery, or fleet-management products.
  • Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or other cloud-based data infrastructure.
  • Experience with batch processing, workflow orchestration, or scheduled production pipelines.
  • Experience handing over ML solutions to internal engineering or data teams.
  • Previous experience in startup or product-oriented environments.

What we offer

  • Competitive compensation and performance bonuses.
  • Remote-first culture with flexible working hours.
  • Opportunity to work on a high-impact AI and logistics product.
  • High level of ownership and influence on technical decisions.
  • Open-minded, results-driven environment.
  • Collaboration with experienced product, engineering, and data teams.
  • Opportunity to take a validated concept and turn it into a scalable production solution.
