About WOWCube
At WOWCube®, we’re redefining play with a one-of-a-kind cube-shaped gaming console that merges the physical and digital worlds.
The WOWCube Entertainment System combines modular hardware, immersive software, and creative game design to create a brand-new category of interactive entertainment.
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Game Designer to shape core mechanics, design levels, and turn ideas into playable experiences alongside the team.
You will design puzzles, systems, and progression at every stage, from first sketch through documentation to shipped feature, working in tight cooperation with developers, artists, and animators.
We expect a designer who thinks in systems and player experience, communicates through clear documentation, and drives decisions backed by playtests and data.
What You’ll Do
- Design, document, and refine core gameplay mechanics, progression systems, and game economy.
- Drive rapid prototyping in close collaboration with developers: shaping interactions, validating mechanics, and iterating on playable builds.
- Create and iterate on levels, puzzles, and gameplay challenges that are fun, logical, and intuitive.
- Prepare clear, concise design documentation for the core loop and meta systems.
- Define an MVP scope for each new idea so it can be prototyped and validated fast, before the team commits to full production.
- Build configuration systems that give you full control over game feel and keep the design coherent and easy to tune as the project grows.
- Define clear asset requirements for artists and animators, making sure assets are exported correctly and ready for integration into builds.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Game Designer.
- 1–3 shipped products (mobile titles at least in soft launch, or released PC games).
- Strong command of technical game design documentation, game balancing, and day-to-day work in Jira and Confluence.
- Comfortable in a highly iterative R&D environment, working in close cooperation with developers.
- Hands-on experience with Figma, including active collaboration with artists and other designers inside the tool.
- Experience working with AI pipelines (e.g., generating concepts via image/video generation).
- Examples of original levels or puzzles with a clear explanation of the design intent and why they work.
- Ability to produce short, structured, and clear design specs.
- Openness to iteration and user testing.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in casual or puzzle game development.
- Experience designing onboarding, tutorials, and dynamic difficulty.
- Basic 2D/3D art skills (greyboxing, concept sketches, simple sprites or models).
- Ability to prototype full gameplay mechanics with AI assistance, not just visually.
- UI/UX design experience with visual prototyping in Figma.
What We’d Like to See in Your Application
- 1–2 game design documents from your portfolio of shipped games.
- 2–3 links to shipped games (videos of those games are also welcome).
