Senior PHP / Symfony Engineer (Legacy Systems)

We are seeking an experienced PHP/Symfony developer to help maintain and incrementally improve an existing Transportation Management System (TMS) used in the logistics industry.

This is a stable, production application that has supported our business for many years. We are not looking for a complete rewrite or migration to another framework. Instead, we are seeking a long-term technical partner who values pragmatic engineering and incremental improvements.

Current environment includes:

• PHP 7.2
• Symfony
• MySQL 5.7
• nginx
• Node.js
• Linux / AWS

Initial priorities include:

• Upgrading and securing PHP and MySQL
• Improving overall system stability and security
• Addressing bugs and technical debt
• Continuing gradual improvements to the platform

• Completing 1-3 desired integrations (API)

We highly value experience working with legacy PHP applications and older Symfony environments.

Ideal candidates:

• 8+ years of PHP experience
• Comfortable working with mature codebases
• Strong understanding of MySQL and Linux environments
• Independent and proactive
• Pragmatic problem solver
• Excellent communication skills

Experience with logistics, transportation, SaaS platforms, or other operational software is a plus.

This is intended to be a long-term, part-time relationship rather than a short-term project. We value stability, maintainability, and thoughtful engineering over large-scale rewrites.
