Scala Engineer

We are looking for a Scala Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on modern backend systems and scalable applications.
 

Location

• Candidates must be based in Spain or Portugal
   

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Scala
• Experience building and maintaining backend services and APIs
• Solid understanding of software design principles and distributed systems
• Experience working with databases and data-intensive applications
• Familiarity with cloud environments and modern development practices
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
• English level: Intermediate+ or higher
   

Nice to Have

• Experience with microservices architecture
• Knowledge of Akka, Play Framework, Cats, ZIO, or similar Scala ecosystem tools
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
• CI/CD experience
   

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services
• Participate in architecture and technical discussions
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams
• Contribute to performance optimization and system reliability
