Senior Mobile Messaging Operations Manager. SMS Manager

We’re hiring a Senior SMS Manager to build and scale SMS as a major revenue channel across our newsletter portfolio. This is a high-impact, greenfield role with full ownership of SMS strategy, infrastructure, subscriber growth, monetization, compliance, and team development.

Build a high-growth SMS channel from day one with executive support, significant ownership, and the opportunity to create a meaningful new revenue stream.

What You'll Do

• Launch and scale enterprise-level SMS programs from the ground up
• Build subscriber acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies
• Own SMS deliverability, segmentation, compliance, and analytics
• Develop SMS monetization through advertising, sponsorships, affiliate offers, and other revenue streams
• Create and optimize SMS content aligned with editorial and business goals
• Partner with leadership and revenue teams to drive growth

• Hire and lead a high-performing SMS team as the channel expands

   

Requirements

• 5+ years of SMS marketing/mobile messaging experience
• Proven success launching and scaling SMS programs
• Hands-on experience with platforms such as Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Twilio, or similar
• Strong expertise in subscriber growth, deliverability, and engagement
• Experience building SMS advertising products and revenue strategies
• Deep knowledge of TCPA, GDPR, CTIA, and SMS compliance best practices
• Strong analytical mindset and data-driven decision making

• Excellent English communication skills (C1+)

   

Nice to Have

• Experience in newsletters, media, affiliate, or performance marketing
• Knowledge of automation tools (Make, Zapier, etc.)
• A/B testing expertise
• API, webhook, or integration experience
