Senior Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on Azure platforms

Start: flexible / to be agreed
Duration: initial 3 months with a very high chance of long-term extension
Workload: full-time preferred, 3 days per week also possible
Remote: primarily remote
Onsite: approx. 4 times per year for a few days within the EU
Location: candidate must be based in the EU

The specialist will support the development and operation of an analytical platform across the full software development lifecycle, including cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD pipelines, security, deployment, migration, and operational support.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, secure, and operate Azure platform components
• Build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
• Create reusable YAML pipeline templates, approvals, and environments
• Develop Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform
• Automate infrastructure and deployment processes with PowerShell
• Implement security-by-design principles and compliance requirements
• Troubleshoot pipelines, networking, identity, and service configurations
• Support go-live and migration activities
• Create technical documentation and transfer knowledge to operations/support teams

Must-have skills:

• Strong experience with Azure Cloud platforms
• Strong expertise in Terraform
• Strong expertise in PowerShell
• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines
• Good knowledge of YAML pipelines, reusable templates, approvals, and environments
• Experience with Git-based workflows, branching strategies, code reviews, artifact and version management
• Experience working in regulated environments
• Strong understanding of security, compliance, and secure cloud configurations

• Experience with observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot
