Engineering Lead (EM / Team Lead)

We are looking for an Engineering Manager or experienced Team Lead to lead and scale engineering teams building our high-performance trading platform.

This role is ideal for engineering leaders who combine strong technical expertise with people leadership and delivery ownership. Whether you are already an Engineering Manager or a hands-on Team Lead looking to expand your impact, you will play a key role in shaping teams, architecture, and engineering culture.

You will work at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure, and business, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and scalability in a latency-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop cross-functional engineering teams of up to 10 engineers (backend, frontend, infrastructure, mobile)
• Own delivery, quality, and technical outcomes for your teams
• Partner closely with Product, Trading, and Senior Engineering leadership to translate business requirements into technical execution
• Drive and evolve engineering processes, including planning, estimation, CI/CD, code reviews, testing, and release management
• Contribute to architectural decisions for systems running on hybrid infrastructure
• Ensure high availability, performance, and observability of production systems
• Identify and reduce technical debt while maintaining delivery velocity
• Mentor engineers, support career growth, conduct 1:1s and performance conversations
• Participate in hiring and team scaling initiatives
• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience leading engineering teams as an Engineering Manager, Team Lead, or similar leadership role
• Strong software engineering background with the ability to engage in technical discussions and architectural decisions
• Experience delivering complex software systems in production environments
• Background in financial systems, trading platforms, or other high-reliability domains
• Strong understanding of backend systems, ideally with hands-on experience in Ruby
• Experience operating systems on AWS (EC2, networking, security, monitoring)
• Experience working with on-premise infrastructure and hybrid environments
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies
• Familiarity with observability tools (metrics, logging, alerting) and performance monitoring

• Exposure to trading, fintech, or market-data platforms
• Experience scaling engineering teams and organizations
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools
• Previous experience transitioning from a senior engineering role into people leadership
