Functional Consultant Microsoft Dynamics

Project Overview

Greenfield implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Premium) for a wholesale distribution + manufacturing company (building materials / millwork domain).
 

Key Responsibilities

BC Functional Expertise

• Manufacturing: BOMs, production orders, routings, subcontracting, costing
• Advanced WMS: bin-level inventory, directed put-away/pick, warehouse flows, tally/variable UOM
• Sales & Pricing: multi-tier price lists, approval workflows, customer-specific pricing
• Purchasing: 3-way match, multi-currency, landed cost (ISV preferred)
• US Finance: AP/AR, bank reconciliation, 1099, FX gain/loss

Delivery Ownership

• Lead design workshops and drive decision closure
• Own data migration (templates, cleansing, test loads, validation)
• Coordinate ISVs (WMS, Avalara, landed cost, integrations)
• Deliver user training across business functions
• Maintain functional documentation (FDD)

QA (if included)

• Write scenario-based UAT test cases with expected results
• Manage BC sandbox environments and test cycles
• Bug triage (P1–P3)
• Define integration and regression test scenarios

Key Requirements

• Experience in BC implementations (Manufacturing + WMS essential)
• Strong in workshop facilitation and structured delivery
• Comfortable with greenfield ambiguity and multiple parallel decisions
• High attention to data accuracy (pricing, UOM, inventory complexity)
