A product FinTech company is looking for a DBA (MySQL) for a fully remote position.
 

This is not just another financial product โ€” it's a high-load system handling real money and millions of transactions 24/7.

The company builds low-latency infrastructure for tier-1 banks across the EU and the US. Their solution is connected to 100+ trading venues, covering over 95% of global FX liquidity.
 

The product enables:

  • Near-zero latency trade execution.
  • Real-time operations for algorithmic traders.
  • Risk management, pricing, and liquidity aggregation within a single system.

In simple terms, this is the technology that allows banks to execute financial operations in milliseconds, not seconds.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience as DBA, at least 3 of them as MySQL DBA.
  • Hands-on experience with DBA failover, security, optimization, backup, etc.
  • Self-managed, can work as a single DBA in the organization.
  • Experience with a scripting language โ€” Python, Bash. 
  • Issue resolution abilities and good analysis for root cause detection.
  • Mandatory - good English, both written and spoken.

 

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience with DB design, testing, and maintenance.
  • Developed in C++, specifically calling MySQL from it.
  • Financial background: FIX protocol, FX trading.
  • Experience with Jira, SVN, and Jenkins.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a part of rapid development cycles to deliver high-quality products.
  • Hands-on development of infrastructure and maintenance.
  • Be responsible for all databases in the organization, including development DBs, staging DBs, and production DBs.
  • Cover Admin aspects like security, Failover/replication, optimization, etc.
  • Consult on design aspects like table structure, indexing, query/stored procedure design, etc.
  • Incorporate products, work procedures, best practices, and architecture.
  • Cooperate with dev, QA, and DevOps teams.
  • Becoming the house expert on the database.
  • Train DevOps and Support.
