Manual QA Engineer

About ElevateOS Product:
ElevateOS has been improving the resident experience for over seven years. We created a single, all-in-one platform that makes it easy for property managers and resident staff to work together. Our goal is simple: to provide the best experience for residents by replacing multiple, confusing apps with one easy solution.
This is a stable, long-term project that continues to grow, and you'll have the chance to be part of its ongoing success.
Our primary technology stack revolves around JavaScript. We use React for the front-end, Node.js for the back-end, and React Native for mobile development.
What skills are essential to us:
- 2+ years of experience as a Manual QA Engineer;
- Knowledge and understanding of the development process and software life cycle;
- Knowledge of testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in manual Web/Mobile/API/Requirements testing;
- Familiarity with writing test documentation, requirements review, creating bug reports;
- Understanding certain marking/scripting/programming languages, required for the project (e.g. JSON, XML, HTML/CSS);
- English - upper-intermediate;
Additional (good-to-have) skills:
- Experience with Automated testing;
- Experience with CI/CD (Circle.ci, GH Actions);
- Basic hands-on experience with hardware setup and configuration (smart home devices, IoT systems, or similar);
- Familiarity with keyless entry systems, smart locks, thermostats, or other connected devices;
- Comfort working with physical devices in a test environment - setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware based on technical documentation;
- Engineering mindset with an interest in how hardware and software systems interact;
What will your responsibilities include:
- Analysis of requirements and preparing clarification questions based on those requirements;
- Writing and executing test cases to detect usability, functional, and performance issues;
- Conducting exploratory testing across both software and connected hardware systems;
- Verification of multi-device and cross-platform consistency;
- Testing smart devices and connected systems in a real or simulated environment;
- Setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware devices based on technical documentation;
- Identifying and reporting issues related to hardware-software integration;
- Creating detailed bug reports and suggesting improvements;
- Participation in planning meetings and providing feedback to the team;
- Writing and maintaining testing documentation.
