Data Engineer

We are looking for 2 experienced Data Engineers to join an international project focused on ETL modernization, workflow orchestration, and migration to modern data platforms.

The role involves redesigning and optimizing existing ETL processes, converting T-SQL logic into scalable Spark/Databricks solutions, and improving overall data pipeline performance within a modern cloud-driven environment.

Project Details

• Start: August 2026
• Duration: Until December 2026+ (extension possible)
• Workload: Full-time
• Location: Vienna / Bratislava (hybrid) or remote with willingness to travel on-site regularly
• Language: Fluent English required; German is a strong plus

Responsibilities

• Rewrite and migrate existing ETL/ELT pipelines
• Convert complex T-SQL logic into Spark / Databricks jobs
• Design and maintain workflow orchestration processes
• Optimize data pipelines for scalability and performance (partitioning, caching, tuning, etc.)
• Collaborate across analysis, development, testing, and implementation phases
• Contribute to modern data engineering standards and best practices

Requirements

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to move from business analysis to technical solution design and testing
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Python
• Solid experience with Spark and Databricks
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
• Experience with tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks Workflows
• Strong understanding of data transformation and performance optimization
• Proactive, solution-oriented working style
• Interest in modern technologies, standards, and forward-thinking approaches
