Fit4Me is looking for a Head of Payments who will drive revenue growth through payment infrastructure, billing logic, and optimization of the payment experience.

In this role, you will define the payment strategy, lead the development of the billing system, and make decisions that directly impact revenue, retention, and scalable growth across Tier 1–2 markets.
This role is for a leader who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach: someone who both defines the direction and drives execution.

This role is a great fit if you:

β€’ Want to own the payments domain and drive revenue, not just manage processes.

β€’ Think in terms of growth and understand how payments impact conversion, LTV, and product scalability.

β€’ Can prioritize and cut through noise, making decisions where the balance between approval, cost, and risk delivers the best business outcome.

β€’ Feel comfortable in a player-coach role: shaping strategy while staying hands-on with key initiatives.

Impact Areas

1. Payment Strategy & Revenue Growth
β€’ Define the payment strategy as part of the overall growth approach, driving impact on revenue, LTV, and product scalability.
β€’ Own key payment metrics (payment success rate, renewal rate, recovery rate) and continuously improve them through data-driven solutions.
β€’ Build and optimize billing logic (retry, dunning, renewal flows) to maximize conversion and user retention.
β€’ Prioritize initiatives by balancing conversion, cost, and risk based on business needs and growth stage.
β€’ Optimize the payment experience in close collaboration with the Product team.
2. Payment Infrastructure & Scaling
β€’ Build and scale the payment infrastructure: multi-PSP setup, routing, orchestration.
β€’ Select and launch new payment providers, payment methods, and markets (Tier 1/Tier 2).
β€’ Ensure stable payment processing while scaling traffic and revenue.
3. Cost & Efficiency Management
β€’ Optimize payment processing costs (PSP fees, routing, balancing conversion vs cost).
β€’ Lead negotiations with payment providers and improve partnership terms.
β€’ Own payment margin as part of the product’s unit economics.
4. Risk & Stability Control
β€’ Monitor chargeback rate, fraud, and other risk metrics as key constraints for growth.
β€’ Build approaches that enable scaling without exceeding risk benchmarks.
5. Team Leadership & Execution
β€’ Lead Payment Operations and develop the team.
β€’ Set priorities and ensure the right balance between strategic initiatives and operational execution.
β€’ Work directly with the CEO, Product, and Marketing teams to drive growth initiatives.

What we expect from you

β€’ 4–6+ years in payments / billing / subscription-based products, with direct impact on payment conversion, retention, or revenue.

β€’ Experience working with high-volume payments ($3–5M+ monthly) and understanding how scale affects performance metrics.

β€’ Building end-to-end payment flows: from payment methods (cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay) that impact conversion, to subscription billing (recurring payments, retry / dunning logic, renewal flows, and declined payment handling).

β€’ Strong understanding of unit economics (LTV, CAC, margins) and the role of payments within it, combined with the ability to analyze metrics, form hypotheses, and make decisions that impact revenue and scalability.

β€’ Experience working with Tier 1 / Tier 2 markets and localizing payment methods.

β€’ Building and optimizing payment infrastructure: PSPs (Stripe, Adyen, Braintree), routing, integrations, and launching new payment methods.

β€’ Experience leading a payment function or team, building processes, and setting priorities.

β€’ Upper-Intermediate (B2+) English for working with providers, negotiations, and optimizing partnership terms.

What success looks like in this role

β€’ Payment infrastructure runs reliably at scale: high approval rates, controlled risk levels, and no critical revenue loss.

β€’ Payments become a growth driver: increased payment conversion, improved renewal rates, and higher recovery of failed payments.

β€’ A clear and effective payment strategy is in place: defined priorities, a strong balance between cost / conversion / risk, and a roadmap that supports product scaling.

β€’ Payment processing costs are optimized without compromising performance: improved provider terms and efficient routing setup.

β€’ Payment Operations runs as a well-structured system: stable processes, no operational bottlenecks, allowing you to focus on scaling and developing the function.
