Product that needs your engagementβ€―

We are building, from scratch, a modern intranet hub for 350+ employees across 5 units (4 business units + Core). You will lead both the architecture and the hands-on build: shape the SharePoint Modern structure, apply our brand so it looks genuinely corporate and polished, and hand it over as a living product. Full ownership of technical and UX decisions, a direct line to the Product Owner (our COO) and IT Lead, no bureaucracy between you and the work.

Our landscape is multi-tenant: a Devart Group hub plus separate Microsoft 365 tenants across 5 units (4 business units + Core). Making them feel like one coherent portal β€” cross-tenant navigation and shared design β€” is part of the challenge.

Your future team of professionalsβ€―

You’ll join a cross-functional team of experienced professionals including a COO, IT Lead, internal designer, and developer/markup specialist. The team also involves HR and Business Unit representatives who ensure content quality, consistency, and alignment with company culture.

Impact you will makeβ€―

We are seeking a Senior SharePoint Specialist to lead the design and implementation of the new Corporate Portal on SharePoint Online (Modern).

This is a 3–4 month flex-time contract engagement focused on building a high-impact, user-centric intranet hub for 350+ employees across multiple business units.

The load is intentionally variable:

  • Phase 1 β€” dense build (~2-3 months) to deliver the MVP portal.
  • Then β€” light ongoing support with a floating load as the portal goes live.
  • Later β€” a likely Phase 2 sprint (deeper custom work, Power Platform, Viva, integrations).

For an experienced specialist who already has a main engagement, this is a paid, high-impact side engagement with a long-term horizon.

What you will do

  • Define the SharePoint Modern hub architecture across our multi-tenant landscape (Home, BU, Core, Culture, Career, Policies, Tools).
  • Set up Communication and Hub Sites for Devart Group and each Business Unit, including cross-tenant navigation and search.
  • Apply Devart branding through theming and CSS, and build the page layouts and web parts from the UX wireframes.
  • Add targeted custom components (SPFx / React) for specific blocks where out-of-the-box is not enough.
  • Configure information architecture, permissions, metadata, libraries and lists; integrate with Azure AD and Teams (and, as scoped, PeopleForce, Jira, Confluence).
  • Run regular demos, gather feedback, iterate on both look and function.
  • Produce technical documentation, admin and user guides; train content editors; prepare the handover package for internal IT and HR.

Skills we are looking forβ€―

  • 5+ years with SharePoint Online (Modern), ideally in a tech or SaaS environment.
  • Strong with theming and branding, page design, standard web parts, information architecture and navigation β€” you can make SharePoint look corporate.
  • A real eye for design and intranet UX β€” you care how the portal looks and feels.
  • Comfortable with targeted SPFx / React customizations where out-of-the-box is not enough (you do not need to be a heavy SPFx developer).
  • Microsoft 365 and Azure AD fundamentals; governance basics.
  • Good communication, independence and a collaborative, team-minded style.

Nice-to-have

  • AI-augmented development β€” using Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot day to day. This is genuinely how our team works.
  • Deeper SPFx / React / TypeScript, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps), Power BI embedding, content migration tooling.
  • Multi-tenant / cross-tenant SharePoint experience.
  • Portfolio of 2+ good-looking modern intranets or Communication / Hub Sites.
