Location: Remote
Work Hours: 11 AM β 7 PM EST (New York, LATAM)
Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Engagement
About the Role
Weβre seeking a software engineer who can bridge the gap between the active development and Tier 1 support. This is a hybrid position ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, is comfortable investigating live issues, and also wants to grow technically by contributing to product development.
The project is related to medical lab testing and includes two Wordpress multisite instances, one custom PHP/Laravel web-application, AI customer assistance bot and a few integrations between them and with the external systems (mostly API-based).
While the core responsibility is the new feature development for the websites and the B2B management portal, the role also includes triaging and resolving support issues during business-critical hours. Together with a Ukrainian team of three developers, one QA and one BA, you will work directly with the US product owners, their management team and support representatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the PM and dev team to work on development tasks during low-volume periods.
- Triage, investigate, and resolve support tickets and application issues as they arise.
- Work with logs, databases, and code to diagnose root causes.
- Escalate complex issues appropriately while providing clear context.
- Participate in stand-ups or team syncs, as needed.
- Maintain high responsiveness during working hours, with a strong sense of ownership.
Technical Requirements
Required :
- 3+ years of experience in software development (mid or senior-level preferred); prior support experience is a plus.
- Good spoken and written English
- Comfortable working independently during EST afternoon/evening hours.
- Proficiency in PHP/Laravel and frontend-frameworks like Vue or react
- Experience with Wordpress.
- Comfortable working with relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
- Ability to read logs and debug issues in production environments.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with AI-tools
- Experience with HIPAA-compliant requirements
- Experience with other programming languages (bonus, not a requirement).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and basic DevOps tools.
Previous experience in a customer-facing or support capacity.
Soft Skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members and customers.
- Eager to learn and take on new challenges.
