Senior Accountant

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage accounting, taxes, and financial operations for a Portuguese Lda company.

This role also includes basic HR administrative support and close collaboration with external accountants and legal advisors.

You will work directly with management and help ensure financial transparency, compliance, and control across the company.
 

Key Responsibilities

— Manage daily accounting, payments, and bank operations
— Handle taxes (VAT, corporate tax, payroll tax) and ensure compliance
— Prepare reports, support P&L, and control expenses and cash flow
— Run payroll processes and coordinate employee payments
— Collaborate with external accountants, lawyers, banks, and government bodies
— Support hiring and termination processes from an admin/legal perspective
— Review contracts and assist with financial/legal workflows
— Help optimize tax structure, revenue processes (e.g. Stripe), and financial setup
— Support audits and handle requests from tax authorities
 

Requirements

— Solid accounting experience (end-to-end accounting, taxes, reporting, payroll)
— Hands-on approach with financial operations and compliance
— Strong attention to detail and structured way of working
— Ability to work independently and take ownership
 

Nice to Have (Would Be a Plus)

— Contabilista Certificado license (OCC)
— Experience working with Portuguese companies (Lda)
— Strong knowledge of accounting and tax rules in Portugal
— Experience working with external accountants and legal teams
— Experience with audits or tax inspections
— Exposure to supporting multiple business units
