Intermediate Data Analyst
Full-time, contract 12+ months
The role
Reporting to the Data Lead, you will be responsible for delivering analytical outputs, maintaining data integrity, and supporting the development of reusable analytics assets. Your key responsibilities will include:
Data Analysis & Insight
· Understand business problems and translate them into analytical approaches, delivering clear, evidence‑based insights.
· Prepare and present dashboards, reports and ad‑hoc analyses that inform client and internal decision making.
· Apply statistical methods and exploratory analysis to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities.
· Write clear, concise commentary and visualisations to support findings and recommendations.
Data Engineering & Quality
· Extract, transform and load data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility.
· Build and maintain ETL scripts, queries and data models using SQL and relevant tools.
· Implement data validation checks, maintain data dictionaries and drive improvements in data quality.
· Collaborate with engineering teams to support data pipeline reliability and scalability.
Collaboration & Delivery
· Work alongside consultants, product owners and client stakeholders to scope analytical requirements and deliverables.
· Contribute to project planning, estimation and delivery, adhering to timelines and quality standards.
· Share knowledge and best practice through documentation, code reviews and mentorship.
· Support proposal and pitch activities by preparing sample analyses and technical inputs.
About you
You are a pragmatic Data Analyst who balances technical rigour with effective communication. You take pride in producing reliable, well‑documented analysis and enjoy working collaboratively to solve business problems. You will bring attention to detail, a learning mindset and the ability to present complex information clearly to non‑technical audiences.
· Proven experience in a data analytics role (consultancy, corporate or scale‑up environment preferred).
· Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
· Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and building dashboards.
· Familiarity with scripting for analysis (Python or R) and common libraries (pandas, numpy, tidyverse).
· Understanding of data modelling, ETL principles and data quality testing.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to stakeholders.
· Strong problem‑solving skills, curiosity and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.
