5+ years as DevOps Engineer in Linux environment

5+ years of Python development

Deep knowledge of networking and security

Hands-on experience with Linux, Containers, Kubernetes and AWS

Strong skills in Shell scripting and CI/CD pipelines

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Lead activities using Agile/Scrum methodologies

Job Responsibilities

Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines

Administer on-prem Linux (Debian-based) servers

Manage AWS infrastructure

Lead Kubernetes (K8s) operations

Build internal DevOps tools (Python, Shell)

Troubleshoot systems, monitor performance, and identify bottlenecks

Collaborate with Automation and R&D teams as support tier

Participate in the DevOps on-call routine

Mentor and promote DevOps best practices and team members

Department/Project Description

Our customer is a leading provider of innovative broadband solutions that deliver video, voice and data to communications providers around the world. GL team participates in development, QA and support of several generations of these solutions.

DevOps team:
• Develops and maintains a tool set and a framework for building customer product. These include a
variety of Linux systems, including Embedded Systems, Data Center Servers and Containerized
solutions. This framework builds Debian packages and Docker images, and assembes a deliverable
product.
• Maintains on-premise Debian servers, Cloud and VMs for running this framework. The build system
consists of an array of Python, Perl and Bash modules, and uses REST API servers and clients, and
some Jenkins automation.
