Job Responsibilities

Responsible for designing and implementing build and test infrastructure, creating and enforcing. good engineering practices, and evaluating product quality for various external and/or internal products.
Conduct research and create Proof of Concepts on new testing technologies/tools/concepts.
Collecting TA metrics, statistics and reports.
Design test strategies by analyzing and dissecting complex heavily integrated software systems.
Develop and contribute to the automated testing efforts for the QA team.
Design and build scalable, maintainable, and flexible automation test framework.
Investigate the root cause of issues to assist with finding the most comprehensive and robust solutions.
Collaborate closely with product, project, and development teams to identify and resolve technical, business, and process-related issues.

Job Description

• Strong Python: 3+ years of professional experience in Python development
• 3 years experience in Object Oriented development 
• Proficiency with Python and common libraries (e.g., requests, asyncio, SQLAlchemy, FastAPI/Django/Flask depending on the stack)
• Passion for open source development and a community mindset
• Proficiency with Git workflows (forking, pull requests, code reviews)
• Understanding of open‑source licenses and contribution etiquette
• Understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals (pods, deployments, services, config maps, secrets) and familiarity with containerization (Docker)
• Strong SQL querying and optimization skills and familiarity with MariaDB‑specific features (e.g., storage engines, replication options)
• Background in performance optimization or distributed systems
• Knowledge of industry standard source control systems
• Proficiency in Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio is preferred
• Experience with industry standard communication protocols; REST. JSON, XML, and SOAP

Job Responsibilities

• You will be part of a team responsible for building the Royalty management solution 
• Participate in all phases of managing the Application Lifecycle Management: requirements analysis, development, testing, and implementation. Participate in technical logic and design discussions
• Investigate and resolve bugs, performance issues, and security concerns
• Create, maintain, and present technical documentation to different audiences and levels
• Perform resource, technical and risk assessments
• Work with other development, architecture, and product development teams to ensure delivery of product
• Support release processes, versioning, and dependency management

Required Experience

• 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, including functional and automation testing.
• Experience testing data-intensive systems and backend services.
• Hands-on experience with database testing (DB2, PostgreSQL, or similar) using SQL.
• Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent).
• Experience with Python
• Experience with API testing tools (Thunder Client, REST clients, or equivalent).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile development methodologies.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field — or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Experience

• Experience testing batch processing, ingestion pipelines, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with copyright systems and data standards in the music industry (e.g., CWR, ISWC, IPI) is a significant plus.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for work tracking and pipeline integration.
• Familiarity with basic performance testing concepts is a plus, particularly against Java-based systems.
• Familiarity with DataDog for log monitoring and observability is a plus.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and command-line operations is a plus.
• Familiarity with Azure Portal and cloud resource management is a definite plus.
• Familiarity with AI as an augmentative tool for test case generation, documentation, and productivity is a plus.

Job Responsibilities

Functional Testing

• Develop, coordinate, and execute end-to-end functional testing for core platform workflows including ingestion, parsing, transformation, and storage.
• Validate data integrity and correctness across DB2, PostgreSQL, and downstream processing pipelines.
• Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test data for functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Perform API testing and validation for services supporting data ingestion, matching, and processing workflows.
• Execute regression and smoke tests across assigned platforms for each release cycle.
• Identify, document, and manage defects using enterprise bug tracking tools (Azure DevOps / Jira).

Automation & Technical

• Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred).
• Validate complex data-driven workflows including parsing, normalization, and transformation logic.
• Perform database validation testing using SQL across DB2 and relational systems.
• Support testing of distributed and batch processing systems including ingestion pipelines, parsers, and matching engines.

Collaboration & Process

• Collaborate with developers and architects to define acceptance criteria and testability requirements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Provide clear and consistent status reporting on testing progress, risks, and quality metrics.
• Follow and contribute to QA standards, frameworks, and methodologies established by the team.
