Senior Oracle DBA

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle DBA with strong Exadata expertise to join a critical enterprise production environment in Frankfurt. This role requires deep hands-on experience managing high-performance, high-capacity Oracle databases in mission-critical systems. You will be responsible for ensuring stability, performance optimization, high availability, and operational excellence across complex RAC and Exadata environments. This is a production-heavy role requiring strong troubleshooting capabilities, automation skills, and ownership mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and support large-scale Oracle production environments

Administer and optimize Oracle Exadata infrastructure

Perform health checks, migrations, patching, and upgrades on Exadata systems

Manage and support RAC environments (build, configuration, troubleshooting, tuning)

Administer ASM, Dataguard, GRID Infrastructure (CRS)

Execute backup, recovery, and migration activities using RMAN, DataPump, export/import

Perform advanced database and SQL performance tuning

Maintain databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM Grid Control)

Support development teams in analyzing and resolving database-related issues

Develop automation scripts and optimize operational workflows

Participate in ITIL-based Change and Release Management processes

Collaborate with offshore teams in a global support model

Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of database systems

Required Experience & Skills

10–12 years of production experience as an Oracle DBA

At least 6 years of strong hands-on experience on Oracle Exadata platform

Solid experience with Oracle 11gR1/R2 RAC, including build, administration, break/fix, and performance tuning

Strong knowledge of ASM and Dataguard administration

Experience managing Clusterware / GRID Infrastructure (CRS)

Expertise in SQL and database-level performance tuning

Advanced backup and recovery knowledge (RMAN)

Experience with Exadata storage cells and Infiniband

Hands-on experience with Solaris, Linux, and AIX operating systems

Strong shell scripting skills

Experience working in large corporate enterprise environments

Experience working with offshore vendors

ITIL-based Change/Release Management experience (preferred)
