Senior Backend Engineer (Python / FastAPI)

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who will take ownership of the backend of a product in the field of traffic analysis and road work planning.

You will work with a real system already used by customers, improve its performance, and contribute to the evolution of its architecture.

About the Product

Our platform helps to:
analyze road networks and traffic
plan safe road work operations
model routes and re-routing scenarios
work with maps and geospatial data (OpenStreetMap)

Tech Stack:
-Python (3.12+), FastAPI
-PostgreSQL, Redis
-Docker
-Geo tools (GeoPandas, NetworkX, OpenStreetMap)

Responsibilities:
-Develop and maintain the backend (FastAPI)
-Design and implement new features
-Improve system performance and reliability
-Work with geospatial data and routing logic
-Optimize APIs and computationally intensive processes
-Collaborate with frontend and product teams

Requirements:
3+ years of backend experience with Python
Strong knowledge of FastAPI or similar frameworks
Experience with PostgreSQL
Understanding of API design and data modeling
Ability to work with complex existing systems

Nice to have:
-Experience with geospatial tools or mapping systems
-Experience with graph-based logic (e.g., NetworkX)
-Familiarity with Redis, Docker, CI/CD
-Experience in routing or logistics systems

Knowledge of geodata and geoinformatics tools is required.
