Business Analyst

Role overview

We're looking for a detail-oriented, analytical Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery across our markets. You'll be responsible for translating business requirements into clear specifications, ensuring solutions are delivered to a high standard, and driving quality across the full product lifecycle — from discovery through to release. You'll also be comfortable getting hands-on with data and APIs, using SQL and tools like Postman to independently validate integrations and data flows without always relying on engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements from stakeholders across multiple markets
• Produce clear and structured artifacts: BRDs, user stories, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria
• Use SQL to query databases independently — validating data integrity, investigating anomalies, and supporting analysis during requirements and testing phases
• Review and work with external API specifications (REST, JSON, XML) — understanding integration requirements and translating them into clear documentation
• Design and execute API test cases, validating request/response behavior, error handling, and data consistency against specifications
• Develop, test, and deploy business processes — owning quality from definition through to sign-off
• Design and execute test plans, test cases, and regression testing to ensure solutions meet business requirements
• Perform data-level testing using SQL to verify backend logic, transformations, and data flows
• Identify, log, and track defects through to resolution in collaboration with development teams
• Perform UAT coordination and work closely with end users to validate delivered functionality
• Map and analyze existing business processes, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
• Monitor competitor offerings and market trends to support product differentiation decisions
• Manage vendor relationships and support business process setup and ongoing operations

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in fintech or financial services
• Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills — you can turn a vague business need into a precise specification
• Hands-on QA experience: writing test cases, executing test plans, and managing defect lifecycles
• Solid SQL skills — able to write queries independently to explore data, validate results, and investigate issues without engineering support
• Experience working with external API specifications and documentation (REST/JSON/XML) — able to read, interpret, and test against API contracts
• Practical experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman or similar
• Experience with UAT coordination and working directly with business stakeholders during testing phases
• Solid understanding of Agile and lean methodologies — you're comfortable in sprint-based environments
• Ability to model and analyze business processes (swimlane diagrams, BPMN, UML or similar)
• Strong analytical mindset — you use data and evidence to challenge assumptions and validate solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; able to produce clear documentation and present to all levels
• Understanding of consumer lending or fintech products and the Asian market is a strong advantage

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, Excel, or UML tools
• BA or QA certification (e.g., CBAP, ISTQB, CSPO, or equivalent)
