Middle/Senior UI/UX Designer

We're building an EdTech platform with mechanics similar to Duolingo — think streaks, XP, levels, challenges, and bite-sized lessons that keep users coming back. We believe learning should feel like play, and we're looking for a designer who shares that vision.

About the Role

We're looking for a Middle/Senior UI/UX Product Designer to join us on a project basis to design our mobile app from scratch. This is a greenfield opportunity — you'll shape the entire user experience from the ground up, starting with the mobile application as our primary platform. Later, the product will expand to web.

This role requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.

What You'll Do

• Design the mobile app from zero — from concept and user flows to high-fidelity, dev-ready screens
• Create a visual language and design system for a gamified learning experience (progress mechanics, rewards, streaks, leaderboards, etc.)
• Build interactive prototypes to test and validate ideas early
• Ensure consistency and quality across all screens and interactions
• Adapt the design system for future web expansion

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design for mobile products (iOS and/or Android)
• Strong portfolio showing mobile app design, ideally built from scratch
• Experience with gamification mechanics — progress systems, rewards, engagement loops
• Solid understanding of mobile platform patterns and guidelines (HIG, Material Design)
• Experience with prototyping and interaction design
• Proficiency in modern design tools (Figma or equivalent)
• Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously in a remote, async environment
• Available for a minimum of 20 hours per week

Nice to Have

• Experience in EdTech or gamified products (learning apps, casual games, fitness apps with gamification)
• Background in game design, game UI, or interactive entertainment
• Experience with animation and micro-interactions (Lottie, After Effects, Rive)
• Illustration skills — ability to create custom visuals, icons, characters, or decorative elements that define the product's personality
