Active Directory Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Active Directory Migration Engineer to support and optimize identity and access management systems for our clients. 

You will be responsible for executing migration, maintaining, and securing Active Directory environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and compliance with best practices. 

Responsibilities 

• Execute AD migration and modernization tasks from on-premises environments to AWS / hybrid cloud  
• Perform assessment of existing domain architecture, trusts, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and authentication flows  
• Implement domain migration, trust configuration, and domain consolidation activities  
• Perform AD DS migration, domain controller migration, FSMO role transfer, and replication validation  
• Execute migration of file services and user profiles to Amazon FSx for Windows File Server  
• Implement integration with Microsoft Entra ID / hybrid identity  
• Prepare and execute runbooks, rollback plans, and cutover procedures  
• Validate post-migration authentication and application access  
• Collaborate with Cloud / DevOps teams during migration execution  
• Automate migration steps with PowerShell  
• Support post-cutover stabilization and issue resolution 

Requirements 

• 4+ years of experience with Active Directory and Windows Infrastructure  
• Proven experience in enterprise-scale AD migration projects  
• Hands-on experience with:  
• domain migrations  
• cross-domain trusts  
• forest migration / consolidation  
• FSMO role migration  
• AD replication troubleshooting  
• Strong experience with DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Kerberos, NTLM  
• Experience with file server migration  
• Experience integrating AD with AWS and hybrid cloud environments  
• Experience with FSx for Windows / Windows file services  
• Strong PowerShell automation skills  
• Experience with migration cutover planning  
• Strong documentation and runbook creation skills 
• Upper-intermediate English (B2+) 

Cloud / AWS Knowledge 

• Practical understanding of Amazon Web Services core infrastructure services, including:  
• Amazon EC2  
• Amazon FSx for Windows File Server  
• Amazon VPC  
• Amazon Route 53 (basic DNS understanding)  
• IAM fundamentals  
• Experience deploying and supporting Active Directory on EC2  
• Understanding of hybrid connectivity:  
• VPN  
• Direct Connect  
• DNS forwarding  
• security groups / NACL basics 

Nice to Have 

• Experience migrating legacy file shares to Amazon FSx for Windows File Server  
• Experience with AD on Amazon Web Services EC2  
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID / AD Connect / hybrid identity  
• Experience with datacenter exit / large-scale migration programs  
• Experience working in MAP / cloud migration engagements  
• Understanding of Zero Trust and enterprise access controls
