Senior Email Deliverability Engineer

We are looking for an experienced specialist who understands the technical realities of email deliverability — especially when it comes to reaching the inbox at German freemail providers.

Your Mission

Design and operate a high-performance SMTP infrastructure that achieves reliable inbox placement, even when working with HTML-rich content and more sensitive filtering environments.

Scope & Volume

• Monthly sending volume of approximately 400,000 to 800,000 emails
• Focus on consistent inbox placement at scale, not just initial setup
   

What You’ll Do
 

• Build and manage a scalable, VPS-based SMTP infrastructure
• Optimize inbox placement for German mailbox providers, including GMX, Web.de, and T-Online
• Configure and maintain:
   
  • SPF, DKIM, DMARC
  • rDNS, HELO, and MX records
• 
   
• Plan and execute structured IP and domain warmup strategies
• Monitor and manage IP and domain reputation
• Analyze deliverability performance, including:
   
  • Bounce patterns
  • Throttling behavior
  • Spam filter responses
• 
   
• Continuously test, monitor, and improve system performance

Your Profile

• Proven hands-on experience in email deliverability and infrastructure
• Strong technical background in SMTP, DNS, and server environments
• Familiarity with European mailbox providers, ideally German freemail systems
• Solid understanding of filtering mechanisms such as greylisting, rate limiting, and reputation systems
• Analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving
