Role Overview
We're looking for a Head of Content Marketing to own and drive Flamingo's content strategy from the ground up. This is a leadership role for someone who can think strategically about content as a growth lever while also rolling up their sleeves to create, ship, and iterate.
You'll define how Flamingo shows up across every content touchpoint β from blog posts and thought leadership to SEO, email, and community engagement β building a content engine that drives awareness, trust, and pipeline within the MSP and IT ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own Flamingo's end-to-end content marketing strategy aligned with business goals and audience needs
- Build and manage the content calendar across blogs, newsletters, social media, whitepapers, case studies, and campaigns
- Create high-quality, compelling content for technical B2B audiences β from long-form thought leadership to snackable social posts
- Develop and execute an SEO strategy to drive organic growth and establish Flamingo as a category leader
- Lead storytelling efforts that translate complex technical features into clear, differentiated narratives
- Collaborate closely with the CEO, product, and engineering teams on messaging, positioning, and go-to-market initiatives
- Build and nurture Flamingo's presence in MSP and IT communities (LinkedIn, Reddit, Slack, industry forums)
- Establish content performance frameworks β track KPIs, analyze results, and continuously optimize for impact
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing, B2B marketing, or growth-oriented content roles
- Proven track record of building and scaling content strategies that drive measurable business results
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills for technical audiences
- Strong understanding of SEO, content distribution, and analytics
- Experience working cross-functionally with product, sales, and leadership teams
- Ability to operate as both a strategist and a hands-on executor in a fast-paced startup environment
- Interest in or familiarity with open-source, IT infrastructure, or cybersecurity
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience marketing to MSPs, sysadmins, or technical buyers
- Background in building content programs at early-stage or Series A startups
- Familiarity with developer relations, open-source communities, or technical evangelism
- Experience with content tools and platforms (CMS, marketing automation, analytics suites)
- Comfortable participating in or leading webinars, podcasts, and community discussions
