VFX Artist (Spine 2D Effects) $$
We are looking for a VFX Artist to create visual effects for online slot games (particles, explosions, glows, trails, screen flashes, win effects, transitions, etc.) - all built and delivered natively in Spine 2D. You'll work alongside our 2D Spine Animator, handling everything on the effects side so the animator can stay focused on characters and symbols.
Before you apply: this role is specifically for Spine 2D VFX. If your effects pipeline lives in Unity, After Effects, or any other tool, and you haven't exported production-ready VFX directly in Spine - this isn't the right fit. We need someone who understands how Spine handles meshes, sequences, and particle-style animation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create particle effects, explosions, glows, light bursts, coin showers, and other game VFX (all animated natively in Spine 2D)
• Build reusable effect skeletons and animations that integrate seamlessly into the animator's Spine workflow
• Work closely with our 2D Spine Animator to match the visual style and timing of each game
• Prepare clean, handoff-ready Spine files for developers
• Draw and prepare sprites, sequences, and texture atlases in Photoshop
REQUIREMENTS:
• Create VFX directly inside Spine, not just import pre-rendered sequences
• Experience animating effects for slot games or iGaming (particles, win celebrations, ambient FX, transitions)
• Understanding of how mesh deformation, weighted vertices, and image sequences work in Spine
• Proficiency in Photoshop for drawing sprites, effect frames, and preparing texture atlases and sprite sheets
• A portfolio showing Spine-native VFX (video or GIF examples of your effects in motion)
