Fintech / Payments / High-Risk | EU Structure

 

We are looking for a strong, hands-on Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial function in a fast-growing fintech company operating in payments, acquiring, and high-risk segments across multiple jurisdictions.

 

This is a key C-level role with direct impact on:

• financial architecture of the business

• liquidity and cash flow management

• financial transparency and control

• collaboration with Risk, Compliance, and Operations

• long-term scalability of the company

 

You will work directly with the CEO and executive team, helping shape a transparent, resilient, and scalable financial system.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Financial Architecture & Structure

• Build and optimize the financial architecture of a multi-jurisdictional business structure

• Design and control fund flows between legal entities, providers, and partners

• Ensure alignment with regulatory, contractual, and tax requirements

• Support the development of a scalable and sustainable financial model for the business

 

Liquidity & Cash Flow Management (Fiat + Crypto)

• Manage daily liquidity across multiple payment flows

• Oversee payment calendars, balances, obligations, limits, and settlements

• Monitor and mitigate risks such as:

• liquidity gaps

• settlement delays

• FX exposure

• blocked or reserved funds

• Build financial scenarios and forecasting models (base / stress / growth cases)

 

Reconciliation & Financial Control

• Oversee and improve end-to-end reconciliation processes

• Ensure data accuracy across:

• transactions

• fees

• FX rates

• conversions

• settlements

• Identify anomalies, financial inefficiencies, margin leakage, and operational blind spots

 

Accounting, Reporting & Intercompany

• Build and manage intercompany financial models (loans, service agreements, fees, licensing)

• Supervise external accounting and financial reporting processes

• Ensure tax compliance and support transfer pricing logic where relevant

• Maintain financial discipline and reporting accuracy across jurisdictions

 

FP&A & Management Reporting

• Own and manage:

P&L

Cash Flow

unit economics

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

• Build clear management reporting and dashboards for leadership

• Provide the CEO with high-quality financial visibility and decision support

 

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Work closely with Risk, Compliance, Operations, Legal, and Business teams

• Integrate financial logic into key business and risk decisions

• Support topics related to:

• AML / KYT / Fraud

• reserves and rolling reserves

• chargebacks

• fund blocking and settlement exposure

 

Process Building & Automation

• Build transparent and scalable financial processes

• Document workflows and establish internal controls

• Introduce automation and improve auditability across the finance function

• Bring structure and clarity into complex financial operations

 

 

Requirements

 

Must-have

1.5+ years of experience in fintech / payments / acquiring

Mandatory experience in high-risk segments

• Experience working in PSP / EMI / acquiring environments

• Strong understanding of international payment flows

• Experience with multi-jurisdictional business structures

• Hands-on experience with reconciliation and settlement processes

• Strong understanding of liquidity and operational finance in payments

• Ability to work both strategically and operationally

 

Nice to have

• Experience with crypto payments or hybrid fiat/crypto models

• Understanding of safeguarding / segregation of funds

• Experience with:

• chargebacks

• rolling reserves

• settlement risk

• Experience in regulated environments (EU / UK)
