About Gabrielle Sands Publishing

Gabrielle Sands is a dark romance and mafia romance author with 7 published titles and an 8th launching in 2026. We're expanding into direct sales (sprayed edge special editions, deluxe boxes) and building out two websites — an author brand hub and a Shopify storefront. We need a designer who can own the visual identity across everything we produce.

The Brand

Dark romance / mafia romance. Think moody, elegant, high-contrast. Rich blacks, deep reds, golds. Sophisticated typography. The aesthetic sits at the intersection of danger and luxury — Italian mafia families, forbidden love, beautiful but sharp.

What You'll Work On

• Book marketing graphics — social media posts, release announcements, pre-order graphics, countdowns
• Website design — landing pages, banners, product photography styling guidance
• Storefront assets — Shopify product images, collection graphics, promotional banners
• Brand collateral — email headers, newsletter graphics, podcast artwork
• Merchandise design — bookmarks, stickers, box inserts, packaging design concepts
• Ad creatives — Facebook/Instagram/TikTok ad graphics and short-form video templates
• Book cover input — collaborating on cover concepts and typography with our dedicated cover designer

Required Skills

• Strong visual taste — you know what looks good and why, and you can translate a mood into cohesive assets
• Graphic design — layouts, compositions, marketing materials (Canva, Figma, Adobe Suite, or equivalent)
• Typography — pairing fonts, hierarchy, readability across formats
• Illustration — decorative elements, icons, flourishes that fit the dark romance genre
• AI design tools — experience with Midjourney, DALL-E, Adobe Firefly, or similar to accelerate creative workflows
• Website design — landing page layouts, UI for Shopify/WordPress
• UX/UI fundamentals — user-friendly layouts, mobile-first thinking

Nice to Have

• Image editing — photo manipulation, compositing, color grading
• Video editing — short-form reels, book trailers, animated graphics
• Motion graphics — animated social posts, countdown timers
• Experience in book publishing, romance genre, or author branding
