AI Automation Engineer

We are a digital media publisher seeking a hands-on AI Automation Engineer to lead the adoption and implementation of AI across our editorial, product, and internal operations.

This is a high-impact, leadership-oriented role where you will define how AI is used across the company - from content generation to internal automation - and act as a key decision-maker in selecting technologies, designing systems, and driving execution.

You will combine backend engineering with AI integration to build scalable, intelligent systems that transform how we operate. 

We are looking for the persong who are comfortable working in the US timezone or close to it. 

What You’ll Do

• Lead AI adoption across the company - define strategy, identify opportunities, and drive implementation
• Design and build AI-powered systems and workflows for content production, analysis, and automation
• Integrate and orchestrate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) into production-ready applications
• Develop backend services and APIs that power AI-driven features
• Connect tools, platforms, and data sources into end-to-end automated workflows
• Act as a technical decision-maker for AI architecture, tools, and frameworks
• Rapidly experiment with emerging AI technologies and turn ideas into production systems

• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, editorial, and product teams

   

Core Requirements (Must-Have)

• Strong Python skills (primary language)
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval systems
• Familiarity with frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar
• Proven experience building AI tools and automation systems
• Strong backend engineering experience (APIs, services, system design)
• Ability to design and implement end-to-end AI workflows
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a bias toward experimentation and iteration

Nice to Have

• Experience with PHP and WordPress ecosystems
• Proficiency in JavaScript / Node.js
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, etc.)
• Background in machine learning
