Product that needs your engagement:

Mobion is a cloud-based white-label platform for ride-hailing and corporate transport services. Launched in 2016 by Devart, it supports operators in 6+ countries and has handled over 20 million rides for 4M+ users and 500K drivers.

Our ecosystem includes rider and driver apps, a real-time dispatch system, admin dashboards, and branded web portals — all backed by a secure, scalable Azure infrastructure. We offer both SaaS and franchise models to help partners grow fast across regions.
 

Your mission:

As Head of Engineering at Mobion, your mission is to transform engineering into a true strategic growth engine — not just a delivery function.

You will architect the technological foundation that enables Mobion to scale across countries, handle millions of rides reliably, and continuously reduce time-to-market in a highly competitive mobility space.

This is a role for a builder and a system thinker.
You will design a scalable, future-proof platform, elevate engineering standards, and cultivate a high-performance organization where ownership, speed, and technical excellence coexist.

You won’t simply lead teams — you will define how engineering shapes product innovation, operational efficiency, and long-term business advantage.

The impact you will make:

  • Technical Strategy & Alignment
    Define and own the long-term technical vision aligned with Mobion’s growth strategy (SaaS+ Franchise expansion). Translate business objectives into scalable architecture and execution roadmaps. Act as a strategic partner to the Head of BU and Product leadership.
  • Architecture & Innovation
    Lead high-level architectural decisions for a distributed, real-time ride-hailing ecosystem (dispatch, mobile apps, admin tools, APIs). Ensure platform scalability, performance, and resilience under growing load and regional expansion.
    Drive Buy vs. Build decisions and continuously evolve the tech stack.
  • AI & Automation Strategy
    Lead the integration of AI-driven capabilities into the product and engineering workflows, including:
    -Demand prediction & dynamic pricing optimization
    -Smart dispatch & route optimization
    -Fraud detection & anomaly monitoring
    -AI-assisted development (code review automation, test generation, performance analysis)
    Build a roadmap for leveraging AI to improve both customer value and internal engineering productivity.
  • Engineering Leadership & Team Growth
    Own hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies. Define competency frameworks, career paths, and drive continuous growth of engineering talent and knowledge sharing.
  • Operational Performance & Delivery Excellence
    Set KPIs for engineering leads, run performance reviews, and own PDPs. Optimize the SDLC to ensure predictable delivery, quality, reliability, and security.
  • Culture & Ways of Working
    Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and technical excellence. Champion Agile/Scrum and DevOps best practices across teams.
  • Resources, Budget & Operations
    Plan and manage engineering resources, capacity, budgets, and vendor relationships.
  • Reliability, Security & Compliance
    Act as the final escalation point for critical incidents. Ensure robust incident management, disaster recovery, and compliance with security and data protection standards (Fintech / Ride-hailing).

  • Scaling Mobion to new countries while maintaining architectural integrity
  • Improving estimation accuracy and predictability across teams
  • Reducing time-to-market without increasing technical debt
  • Managing platform complexity as the product ecosystem grows
  • Implementing AI-driven features in a way that delivers real business value
  • Ensure platform reliability (SLA/SLO), system scalability, incident reduction
  • Strengthening cross-functional collaboration between Engineering, Product, and Operations
  • Building a strong second layer of engineering leadership

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has 5+ years of experience in software engineering, including 2+ years in a senior leadership role (e.g., VP of Engineering, CTO, Head of Engineering), ideally within high-load systems or the ride-hailing / logistics domain.
  • Can translate business objectives into technical strategy and long-term roadmaps.
  • Has proven experience leading cross-functional teams (Engineering, QA, DevOps) and managing capacity and resource allocation.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of software development methodologies and process optimization.
  • Has a strong architectural-level understanding of Node.js, React, and microservices (to guide and challenge the team, not necessarily to code).
  • Has experience planning and managing technical budgets, infrastructure costs, and engineering resources.
  • Demonstrates solid knowledge of AWS / Google Cloud / Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and scalability & reliability principles.
