Technical Artist UE4/5 (Realistic Style, AA Games)

We’re looking for a Technical Artist to bridge the gap between art and engineering, helping us turn creative vision into optimized, production-ready assets. At Fractured Byte, we focus on realism and personality, and we’re looking for a Technical Artist who can help make every in-game moment feel impactful and immersive.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Integration and optimization content (LODs, optimize skeletal meshes).

Texture tuning and optimization.

Working with materials: modifications, optimization, creation of new materials.

Base knowledge BluePrints: basic understanding of how the work and node system Blueprints (BP). 

Working with level lighting: global illumination, light sources, fog, shadows, color grading.

Working with particle systems: modifications, optimization, creation of new emitters.

Level optimization, include understanding instancing (ISMA, HISMA), merging static meshes and Hierarchical LOD (HLOD)

Performance improvements via .ini files, platform-specific (devices Gen 8/9) settings, draw distances, LODs etc.

Collaborate with other disciplines: animators, programmers, 3D artists.


REQUIREMENTS

Experience as a Technical Artist (UE4/5) - 1+ year.

Understanding the render pipeline, PBR, and shaders.

Knowledge of lighting, creating and setting up materials, post-processing and optimizing content in UE4/5.

Experience with Content Creation Software (DCC) - 1+ year.


 

PREFERENCES:

Experience with a version control system.

Experience in automation and scripting.

Practice with other engines.

English at least pre-intermediate.
