Senior QA Engineer Offline

On behalf of our client, a UK-based technology company specializing in transport retail and digital ticketing platforms, Mobilunity is seeking a Senior QA Engineer.

Our client partners with leading transportation operators to deliver innovative digital ticketing systems, scalable SaaS platforms, and customer-facing applications. Their solutions enhance passenger experience while enabling modern retail capabilities across rail and wider transport networks.

Mobilunity is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to ensure end-to-end product quality across mobile and web platforms. You will take ownership of quality throughout the SDLC, drive strong testing practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes in a distributed engineering environment.

Responsibilities:

• Own quality end-to-end: from requirements review to post-release validation
• Apply a strong shift-left mindset, identifying risks early in the SDLC
• Drive test strategy and coverage for mobile applications (iOS/Android) and web
• Validate API integrations and distributed client-server interactions
• Perform functional and non-functional testing in real-world scenarios

Contribute to QA process improvements and quality standards

Must have skills:

• 5+ years of experience in QA within the software development industry
• 3+ years of experience testing mobile applications (iOS and Android)
• Strong analytical skills and deep understanding of test design techniques
• Solid understanding of client-server architecture and web technologies
• Experience testing REST APIs and working with debugging tools
• Practical experience with test documentation and test management systems
• Basic SQL knowledge
• Experience with traffic inspection tools (Charles, HttpToolkit, etc.)
  Hands-on experience with non-functional testing (performance, reliability, real-device scenarios)

Nice to have skills:

• Experience in test automation (mobile/web/API)
• Hands-on experience with Postman (API automation), Cypress, or Appium
• Programming background (any language)
• Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (Sentry, Grafana)
• Experience with cloud device farms (BrowserStack)

This position is primarily manual QA (approximately 80%), with the opportunity to contribute to API automation (approximately 20%), particularly using Postman. Experience with automation tools such as Cypress or Appium will be considered a strong advantage.
