Account Director – Digital Performance to $4500

Role Summary

As Account Director, you are the senior client and delivery lead within Propaganda Solutions. You ensure that our performance marketing engagements run with strategic clarity, operational discipline, and commercial success.

You are responsible for safeguarding client relationships, elevating the quality of delivery, and aligning performance teams, creatives, developers, and analysts around measurable business outcomes.

This role sits between Founder/CEO and execution teams and is critical to scaling the agency beyond founder-dependence.

You will operate across both:

  • Propaganda Solutions GmbH
  • Propaganda Solutions Global Limited

Fluency in German or English is required. Ideally both.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Leadership & Governance

  • Act as senior strategic partner for assigned accounts
  • Own overall client health (retention, satisfaction, commercial growth)
  • Lead key client meetings and QBRs
  • Set clear performance expectations and accountability standards
  • Translate complex performance data into clear commercial narratives
  • De-escalate issues and proactively manage risk

 

You are the calm, senior voice in the room.

 

2. Commercial Ownership

  • Ensure retainers match scope and value delivered
  • Identify upsell opportunities (new channels, CRO, analytics, tech upgrades)
  • Monitor scope creep and enforce structured change management
  • Work with Finance to ensure project profitability

 

You protect margin and grow accounts.

 

3. Performance Oversight

Deep understanding required across:

  • Google Ads (Search, PMax, YouTube)
  • Meta Ads (Acquisition, Creative Testing, Scaling)
  • TikTok etc.
  • Affiliate Marketing
  • Tracking (GA4, server-side, CAPI)
  • E-commerce funnels & CRO
  • Attribution logic
  • KPI modelling (ROAS, MER, CPA, LTV)

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing performance strategy before client presentation
  • Challenging Performance Managers constructively
  • Ensuring channel strategy aligns with commercial reality
  • Implementing structured testing roadmaps

 

You do not run campaigns day-to-day, but you must be capable of interrogating them intelligently.

 

4. Delivery Discipline

  • Oversee Project Management standards
  • Implement QA gates for client-facing deliverables
  • Ensure weekly cadence across accounts
  • Enforce documentation standards
  • Reduce founder escalation dependency

 

You bring structure without bureaucracy.

 

5. Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Coach Performance Managers (strategic thinking, presentation quality)
  • Develop Account Coordinators and PMs
  • Instill professionalism in client communication
  • Create clarity of ownership across teams
  • Support hiring decisions in performance/account functions

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years in digital performance, e-commerce, or growth roles
  • Prior Account Director / Senior Account Manager experience preferred
  • Proven experience managing €50k–€500k monthly ad spend portfolios
  • Strong commercial mindset (understands margin, scope, upsell)
  • Deep familiarity with performance marketing KPIs and attribution
  • Comfortable challenging teams on strategy and execution
  • Experience in agency environment highly preferred
  • Fluent in English or German (both strongly preferred)
