Technical Project Lead – Web Development

dNovo Group is a Toronto-based Digital Marketing Agency providing web design and digital marketing services to clients across Canada. 

We are looking for a senior Technical Project Lead – Web Development to oversee backend website execution, lead developers, and manage project delivery across client accounts. This is a hybrid leadership role combining technical expertise and project management responsibilities.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for leading backend web development, resolving technical issues, managing project workflows, and ensuring high-quality delivery. 

You will work directly with clients and internal team members, acting as both technical authority and project lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership
• Lead backend web development efforts
• Lead and mentor web developers
• Review and QA technical tasks
• Ensure high standards in implementation
• Resolve complex website and server-related issues
   

Project & Client Management

• Assign, track, and manage tasks in Trello
• Coordinate timelines and priorities
• Communicate directly with clients via video, phone, chat, and email
• Provide clear updates and technical explanations

Technical Scope Includes

• Website glitches (broken elements, unresponsive site, unsecured site, permalink issues, contact form delivery problems)
• Hosting configurations
• SSL and domain setup
• DNS setup for websites and email
• Troubleshooting email issues
• SMTP setup for contact forms
• Google Analytics & Google Search Console setup and tracking fixes
• Basic API configurations
• Basic on-page SEO implementation
   

Requirements

• Strong backend web development experience
• Experience leading projects in an agency environment
• Solid knowledge of hosting, DNS, SSL, and email systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Fluent English and strong client communication
• Available full-time during EST hours
• Reliable, accountable, and detail-oriented
