EdSpan is an innovative EdTech company dedicated to creating cutting-edge learning experiences that empower the next generation of students. Our collaboration with a US-based private school network helps us better understand user needs while expanding our B2C and B2B products to a broader audience. Our current focus includes an AI-guided tutoring experiences, a peer-to-peer tutoring platform, and a custom learning management system.
We operate within a framework of clearly defined processes supported by automation for routine tasks, and open, productive collaboration across the team. Our workflows are based on Agile principles, with daily stand-ups, bi-weekly sprints, and other key Scrum practices. At the same time, we keep meetings to a minimum to ensure everyone can stay focused on delivering high-quality results and continuing to grow professionally.

Requirements
- BSc / MSc in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field
- 5+ years of experience as an Individual Contributor (Software Developer, DevOps, ML Engineer, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience in managing technical teams
- Deep understanding of Agile practices and the SDLC
- Leadership
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop engineering teams
- Experience in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members
- Experience in establishing and tracking OKRs for engineering teams
- Communication and Collaboration
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, business-oriented and results-focused approach
- Proven experience in collaborating with senior executives, such as CTOs and CEOs, on technology strategy and implementation
- Technical skills
- Experience building complex web-based products is a must: API-first, cloud platforms, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with quality assurance processes and automation testing tools
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools
Must be fluent in English
Would be a plus
- Technical expertise aligned with our stack (PHP and Node.js, Angular, Flutter, AWS cloud) is a strong advantage
Experience leading or contributing to AI-driven product development (e.g., AI agents, agentic workflows), or strong practical expertise in agentic systems design, prompt engineering, and model evaluation practices
What will you do
- People Management
- Lead an all-remote engineering team, maintain a culture of excellence, collaboration, and mentorship;
- Use technical expertise to guide the team in solving complex problems, occasionally conducting code reviews, and discussing solutions
- Set goals for engineers through OKRs and track their progress toward these goals
- Conduct one-on-ones and trainings, be responsible for career progressions
- Project Oversight
- Enable engineers to deliver outstanding results and build products, with accountability over quality and delivery performance;
- Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and take corrective actions to ensure timely delivery
- Evaluate potential project risks and develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions
- Team Expansion
- Identify opportunities for team growth and expansion, work with recruiters to hire and onboard new engineers or get provisional help from our partners
- Enhance the technical interviewing process and candidate checks
- SDLC and Automation
- Collaborate with engineers to optimize and streamline the SDLC process, CI/CD pipelines, and QA processes
- Drive the adoption of software methodologies and automation practices to improve development efficiency
- Quality Improvement
- Collaborate with across teams to improve the quality of specifications and technical requirements
- Enhance the criteria for the definition of ready and the definition of done
- Ensure that quality level of automated tests results in improved Lead Time and reduced amount of detects
