Senior AI Systems Engineer(Outstaff with the potential of transition to In-House Model)

Our team has been working together for almost 5 years, and now we are looking for a proactive Senior AI Systems Engineer to join a highly technical R&D team.
๐ About the project & conditions
The project involves workload characterization, performance modeling, and HW/SW co-design for state-of-the-art AI workloads. You will work on identifying performance bottlenecks, modeling execution patterns, and contributing to system-level optimization strategies involving both software and hardware components.
- Format: Outstaff.
- Team Structure: Core technical leadership based in Israel; close collaboration with the Israeli engineering team and periodic interaction with the West Coast (US) team.
- Collaboration: Working directly with senior technical stakeholders involved in architecture, performance analysis, and system design.
๐ What we expect from you
- Background: Strong background in AI systems, deep learning internals, or computational modeling.
- Experience: Proven experience analyzing or optimizing AI/ML workloads.
- Deep Understanding: Knowledge of GPU/CPU architecture, memory hierarchy and data locality, parallel compute models, and execution runtimes.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, C++, or another system-oriented language.
- Performance: Experience profiling and debugging performance bottlenecks and the ability to translate algorithmic concepts into hardware-aware execution strategies.
- Analysis: Strong analytical thinking and deep understanding of neural network computational behavior.
๐ Would be a big plus
- Experience with HW/SW co-design, custom accelerators, or inference runtimes.
- Knowledge of compilers, kernel fusion, graph optimizers, or execution engines.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale AI infrastructure and inference pipeline optimization.
- Research background (PhD or significant contributions such as papers, white papers, internal research).
- Experience bridging research โ production.
- Proficiency with performance profiling tools (GPU/CPU profilers, benchmarking frameworks).
๐ Responsibilities
- Analyze and model performance characteristics of modern AI workloads on real hardware.
- Investigate computational and memory bottlenecks in deep learning models (including transformers and LLMs).
- Map algorithmic designs to hardware execution models (GPU, CPU, accelerators).
- Evaluate and improve parallelism, data movement, and memory hierarchy utilization.
- Collaborate closely with AI researchers, systems engineers, and hardware specialists.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and core R&D topics shaping the direction of the product.
- Help define optimization approaches across software, runtime, and system layers.
