Investment Manager

MilTech 🪖

We’re an air defence company developing distributed systems for use across the frontline. Our products are mission-critical, deeply technical solutions that directly contribute to national security. At the core of our work is a focus on impact for Ukraine — building technology that makes a real difference on the battlefield, not just in labs or on paper.

We’re looking for an Investment Manager with direct experience in venture capital and/or startup fundraising who can combine rigorous capital strategy with disciplined execution. The goal is to build institutional fundraising rounds for Pai Defence and help establish credible, precedent-setting Ukrainian defence technology cases respected by international investors.

Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Capital Planning

Purpose: To build a data-driven venture investment strategy.

  • Analyze the global defence and dual-use investment landscape (EU / UK / US): funds, strategic investors, mandates, cheque sizes, constraints.
  • Analyze comparable companies, recent rounds, valuations, and investor behavior.
  • Define fundraising strategy: target investors, round structure, timing, and sequencing.
  • Translate company roadmap into fundable milestones, capital needs, and valuation logic.
  • Advise the CEO on which opportunities to pursue, defer, or decline.

Investor Pipeline, Materials & Relationship Building

Purpose: To ensure a systemic, world-class communication pipeline with investors and partners.

  • Build and maintain a systematic investor pipeline (CRM): outreach, warm intros, follow-ups, and status tracking
  • Own investor communications: outbound emails, follow-ups, and ongoing relationship management
  • Prepare and maintain investor materials: pitch decks, one-pagers, market and competitive analysis, and a clean data room (in collaboration with the design team).
  • Run investor updates and reporting cadence
  • Monitor relevant events, conferences, and networks; ensure Pai Defence has consistent presence and visibility
  • Coordinate investor calls, technical deep dives, and ongoing dialogue

Deal Execution

Purpose: To ensure efficient deal execution.

  • Support CEO in negotiation of valuation, terms, and structure, using strategic positioning and competitive dynamics
  • Coordinate due diligence and information flow
  • Work with legal teams on term sheets, transaction documents, and closing mechanics
  • Track deal progress, timelines, and open issues until completion

Requirements

  • Strong motivation to contribute to the defence of Ukraine
  • 2+ years of experience in venture capital, corporate development, investment banking, or startup fundraising
  • Direct exposure to fundraising processes, valuation analysis, and term sheet mechanics
  • Strong analytical skills combined with operational discipline
  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple parallel workstreams
  • Fluent English
  • Comfortable working in a military tech environment

What we offer:

  • Full-time position with competitive compensation
  • Work directly with founders
  • Opportunity to contribute to the value-driven defence company
