Our client is a Spain-based company and one of the prominent providers of unique online slot games. With a team of 30+ developers, designers, and marketers, they create innovative, captivating slot titles for a global audience.

 

Looking for a Lead 2D Animator (Spine) to lead a 2D animation team and own animation quality, style consistency, and production-level polish across slot games. This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll guide the team and jump into key animations when timelines are tight and the result must feel top-tier.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of 2D animators: plan and assign work, align priorities, unblock delivery, and keep a stable production rhythm.
  • Own animation quality and style consistency across slot games, ensuring a cohesive visual language and “feel”.
  • Run reviews, provide clear actionable feedback, and push deliverables to production-ready level (polish, final passes, clarity, impact).
  • Hands-on on key/complex animations and game features when needed.
  • Build and maintain the animation pipeline: standards, templates, naming conventions, file structure, versioning, export rules, and integration requirements.

  • Communicate progress, dependencies, and risks transparently; proactively manage timelines and quality expectations.

     

Requirements

  • Senior-level 2D animation experience with proven leadership/mentorship in iGaming (slot games).
  • Strong production mindset: deliver fast without sacrificing quality; consistently finish work to a polished final state.
  • Excellent motion fundamentals (timing, spacing, dynamics) and strong sense of impact/reward and readability.
  • Advanced Spine 2D proficiency + understanding of integration workflows and optimization constraints (exports, performance budgets, implementation requirements).
  • Strong visual taste and ability to maintain and enforce a consistent style across multiple contributors.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to build and maintain pipeline discipline: structured files, consistent naming, version control habits, reliable exports, deadline ownership.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills: precise feedback and effective cross-functional coordination.
