Backend / Solutions Architect – DocuSign/ AWS (TypeScript, Serverless)
At FluidLabs, we are launching a new strategic direction in close collaboration with DocuSign - one of the world’s leading platforms for digital signatures and contract lifecycle management.
This role goes beyond pure implementation. You will own backend architecture, drive technical decisions, and help shape a scalable, secure DocuSign-based platform with global impact.
It is a rare opportunity to become a deep domain expert across the DocuSign ecosystem while working on enterprise-grade, real-world systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Own and design the overall backend architecture for DocuSign-based integrations and services
- Define architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across Node.js / TypeScript services
- Design and evolve serverless architectures on AWS (Lambda-first approach)
- Make high-level technical decisions around:
- service boundaries and APIs
- data modeling and access patterns (DynamoDB)
- synchronous vs asynchronous communication
- Design secure, scalable OAuth2 / OIDC authentication and authorization flows
- Develop integration strategy with DocuSign APIs, webhooks, and third-party systems
- Ensure system scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency
- Set up and improve observability: logging, metrics, alerts (AWS CloudWatch)
- Review code and architecture decisions, provide technical guidance and mentorship
- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and stakeholders
- Proactively identify technical risks and drive long-term system improvements
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and guide root-cause analysis
Must-have technical skills:
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and backend application design
- Extensive experience with Node.js in production environments
- Proven experience designing and running serverless architectures on AWS Lambda
- Deep understanding of AWS DynamoDB (NoSQL data modeling, performance tuning, scaling strategies)
- Solid experience with AWS CloudWatch (logs, metrics, alarms, observability)
- Strong understanding and hands-on implementation of OAuth2 / OIDC
- Ability to design secure, fault-tolerant, and maintainable backend systems
- Experience making architectural trade-offs and explaining them clearly
Nice to have:
- Hands-on experience with DocuSign APIs and enterprise integrations
- Experience with event-driven architectures (SQS, SNS, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, WebSockets)
- Broad AWS knowledge (API Gateway, S3, Step Functions, IAM, ECR/EKS is a plus)
- Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms
- Strong understanding of security best practices for cloud-native systems
- Solid CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
- Knowledge of software design principles (SOLID, DDD, TDD)
- Ability to mentor engineers and raise overall technical quality
- Some exposure to frontend frameworks (React, Next.js) for end-to-end thinking
What we offer:
- Opportunity to shape a new DocuSign-focused platform from the ground up
- High level of technical ownership and architectural influence
- Enterprise-level projects with real architectural and scalability challenges
- Long-term collaboration on meaningful projects
- A passionate team with a healthy, positive culture
- Enterprise-level projects with real technical challenges
- Room to grow — both professionally and personally
- Referral bonuses for successful candidate recommendations
- Paid holidays and time off
Work terms:
- Working hours: 11:00–20:00 (Kyiv time)
- Vacation: 24 paid days per year
- Trial period: 3 months
