Role Overview
We are looking for a Video Scriptwriter / Creative Strategist who will turn business goals, insights, and strategies into clear, high-performing video scripts — using AI as a productivity tool, not a creative crutch.
This role requires someone who is comfortable working with AI (for research, drafts, variations), but who can edit, refine, and elevate scripts so they never sound generic, templated, or “AI-written.”
Key Responsibilities
1. Video Scriptwriting & Story Structure
- Write scripts for short-form and long-form videos (Reels, Shorts, YouTube, ads).
- Build strong hooks, narrative flow, and clear endings (CTA or next step).
- Turn rough ideas or AI-assisted drafts into sharp, human, watchable scripts.
- Adapt one idea into multiple script variations without repetition or formula fatigue.
2. AI-Assisted Ideation (Without AI Slop)
- Use AI tools to speed up research, ideation, and structural exploration.
- Critically evaluate AI outputs and rewrite them into original, brand-safe language.
- Eliminate generic phrasing, overused hooks, and empty marketing clichés.
- Ensure every script sounds intentional, specific, and human.
3. Performance-Oriented Thinking
- Write scripts with retention, watch time, CTR, and conversions in mind.
- Understand how hooks, pacing, framing, and clarity affect performance.
- Improve scripts based on analytics, feedback, and content benchmarks.
4. Briefs & Collaboration
- Prepare clear, actionable script briefs for editors, motion designers, and producers.
- Work closely with Creative Directors and marketers to align scripts with strategy.
- Iterate fast and improve scripts through internal review cycles.
5. Quality & Consistency
- Maintain a consistent brand voice across high-volume content production.
- Actively remove “AI slop” from scripts during review and refinement.
- Protect clarity, tone, and positioning — even under tight deadlines.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience writing scripts for video content (social, YouTube, ads).
- Strong understanding of short-form video mechanics (hooks, pacing, payoff).
- Hands-on experience using AI tools for writing or ideation with strong editing skills.
- Ability to recognize and eliminate generic, low-quality AI-generated language.
- Clear, structured thinking and strong command of English.
- High attention to detail and content quality.
Nice to Have
- Agency or content studio experience.
- Experience with performance creative or growth marketing.
- Familiarity with structured content systems and repeatable frameworks.
- Experience working with U.S. brands or audiences.
