Ruby on Rails developer

We’re looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer who enjoys building reliable, user-centric web applications and taking ownership of meaningful technical challenges. In this role, you’ll work on a mature product, collaborate closely with a skilled and supportive team, and have real influence on both technical decisions and product evolution.
 

Your Background

• Proven experience in building and maintaining web-based applications
• 5+ years of hands-on experience working with Ruby on Rails, Stimulus, Vue.js, PostgreSQL, and Linux-based servers
• A collaborative mindset - you enjoy working closely with others and contributing as part of a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and/or German
• Comfortable taking ownership and responsibility, seeing it as a chance to grow rather than a source of pressure

• Genuine interest in understanding the needs, challenges, and perspectives of both users and clients

   

Our Technical Stack

• Backend: The core of our product is built with Ruby on Rails, primarily using server-side rendering
• Frontend: Vue.js is used for selected components, with Turbo and Stimulus planned for future enhancements
• Database & Caching: PostgreSQL for persistent data storage and Redis for caching
• Infrastructure & Deployment: Applications run on Ubuntu Linux virtual machines, deployed using Capistrano, with a planned migration to Kamal 2
• Development Tools: RubyMine is the main IDE used by the team
• Version Control & Code Review: GitLab for source control, merge requests, and reviews

• Team Communication: Slack is our primary communication platform
