Data Engineer

We operate at scale, process high transaction volumes, and work across complex, high-risk payment ecosystems. As our fintech holding continues to grow internationally, we are launching a new Data & Analytics direction — and this role is foundational to it.

Today, we are looking for a Data Engineer (Middle+ / Senior) who can design and build our data infrastructure from scratch, take ownership of architectural decisions, and deliver a working MVP in a short timeframe.

About the Project

You will be responsible for creating a single source of truth for the holding:

• A centralized analytical DWH
• An automated reconciliation system for financial and operational data
• A scalable data foundation prepared for rapid growth

Current data volume is ~3 TB and growing fast.

This is not a support or maintenance role — you will design, architect, and implement the core data platform that future analytics, finance, and product teams will rely on.

Your Mission

Build the data backbone of the fintech holding from the ground up.
You will own architecture, pipelines, data quality, and delivery — from first design decisions to a production-ready MVP.

What You Will Do

Architecture & Pipelines

• Design the overall data architecture and independently implement it
• Develop and maintain ELT / ETL strategies and pipelines
• Propose technical solutions and approaches, align them with the team, and take responsibility for implementation

Data Ingestion

• Build reliable pipelines from:
  • Internal databases (PostgreSQL)
  • External APIs (handling pagination, rate limits, retries, failures)
• Automate ingestion of financial files:
  • Bank statements, registries, reports
  • Formats: CSV, XLSX, JSON

Data Quality & Reliability

• Ensure raw data preservation (immutability of original sources)
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring
• Prepare infrastructure for increasing data volumes and complexity

Infrastructure & Scalability

• Prepare the platform for long-term growth and higher load
• Participate in defining best practices for the new Data direction within the holding
   

Tech Stack (Current / Planned)

• Databases:
  • PostgreSQL — transactional layer & reconciliation
  • ClickHouse — analytical core (fast aggregations)
• ETL / ELT:
  • Airbyte (or alternatives)
  • Python (custom scripts)
• Orchestration: Airflow or Dagster

• Infrastructure: Docker / Kubernetes

   

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience & Skills

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer (Middle+ / Senior level)
• Proven experience designing data architectures from scratch
• Strong Python skills for data processing and automation
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and analytical databases (ClickHouse is a strong plus)
• Experience working with APIs, financial data, and large datasets

• Understanding of data quality, reconciliation logic, and monitoring
