Junior Network Engineer (Robotics / IoT)

Somatic is a robotics company. Our first product is a bathroom cleaning robot for commercial spaces like airports, hospitals, and office buildings. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Robot & Network Foundations

• Help maintain robot connectivity (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, LTE)
• Assist in configuring and maintaining VPN connections for robots and developers
• Monitor robot connectivity and uptime
• Learn how networking works in real-world environments (hotels, public buildings)

Office & Internal Infrastructure

• Support local office network (Wi-Fi, switches, access points)
• Help onboard new employees (network access, VPN, credentials)
• Troubleshoot basic connectivity and access issues

DevOps & Cloud (Gradual Ownership)

• Assist with CI/CD pipelines
• Learn how cloud infrastructure is organized and deployed
• Work with Docker containers
• Help maintain monitoring and logging systems
• Participate in infrastructure automation and documentation

Security & Reliability

• Learn best practices for network and infrastructure security
• Help manage access rights, certificates, and secrets
• Follow operational procedures and incident response workflows

What We Expect You to Already Know

We don’t expect expert-level knowledge, but you should have a strong foundation in:

• Linux basics (terminal, services, logs, permissions)
• Basic networking concepts (IP, DNS, TCP/UDP, routing)
• Understanding of how the internet and cloud services work
• Git usage
• Docker
• Basic scripting (Bash / Python)
• Home lab experience (servers, routers, VPS, etc.)
