Email Developer (Blueshift / HTML / Liquid) for an Online News Media

We are seeking an Email Template Developer to support a long-term project for a U.S.-based client — a well-established publisher of trusted news and informational content that empowers people to make smarter, more informed decisions on important issues affecting their lives. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining dynamic, scalable email templates inside Blueshift CDP, working closely with marketing and CRM teams.
 

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain email templates in Blueshift CDP using HTML, CSS, and Liquid
• Implement dynamic personalization using Liquid (conditional logic, user attributes, dynamic content blocks, product recommendations)
• Convert Figma design files into responsive, modular, and reusable email templates
• Ensure consistent rendering across major email clients (Gmail, Outlook, iOS Mail, etc.)
• Optimize emails for deliverability, performance, and load efficiency
• Create scalable template structures to support frequent content updates
• Test and QA emails using Litmus, Email on Acid, or in-platform preview tools
• Troubleshoot Liquid logic issues, rendering inconsistencies, and formatting bugs
• Collaborate with marketing, CRM, and growth teams throughout campaign execution
• Provide ongoing support, improvements, and refinements as part of a long-term engagement
   

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building HTML/CSS-based email templates
• Strong proficiency with Liquid templating language (variables, loops, conditions, dynamic personalization blocks)
• Experience working with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) — ideally Blueshift, or similar solutions such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Klaviyo, Iterable, or HubSpot
• Solid understanding of responsive email design and rendering limitations across devices and clients
• Ability to translate Figma design files into clean, maintainable email templates
• Knowledge of email deliverability best practices (inline styles, fallbacks, optimization)
• Experience working with marketing, CRM, or growth teams
• Basic understanding of segmentation and personalization workflows
• Experience troubleshooting email rendering issues using Litmus or Email on Acid
• Familiarity with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and general email compliance standards
• Ability to work independently in a long-term remote environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders
• English level: Upper-Intermediate
