Key Responsibilities:

— Defining and implementing the design department’s development strategy in alignment with the company’s overall strategic direction.
— Overseeing and ensuring design quality across all deliverables.
— Ensuring a clear and consistent external brand image that represents the company’s values and follows internal guidelines.

— Team management: overseeing workload and resource planning, fostering designers’ growth through support and mentorship, hiring and onboarding new team members, handling conflict resolution. 

— Sales-related activities: creating and presenting concepts for inbound leads, maintaining up-to-date sales materials, participating in project scoping and estimation, and preparing proposals that balance client needs with team capabilities.
— Providing consultation and guidance to technical teams, managers, and designers.
— Conducting periodic audits of current processes and guidelines, maintaining, improving, and adjusting them as needed.
— Reporting on the design team’s workload, performance, and outcomes.
— Providing design support for internal projects and initiatives.
— Managing the design tool ecosystem.
— Submitting projects for design awards — and shooting for victories, not honorable mentions.

Requirements:

— Proven track record in a similar design leadership role in outsourcing companies, with measurable results, analytics, and a history of successful initiatives and processes.
— Strong business mindset and product-oriented approach to design.
— Experience defining and executing design strategies aligned with company goals.
— Leadership by example: ability to inspire, mentor, and develop designers, manage workloads and resources, and resolve conflicts.
— Skilled in overseeing design quality, maintaining and evolving processes and guidelines, and ensuring a consistent external brand presence.
— Hands-on involvement in sales activities: creating concepts, supporting proposals, and balancing client needs with team capacity.
— Comfortable with providing consultation to technical teams, managers, and designers.
— Experience in managing cross-functional collaboration.
— Excellent communication skills — confident, assertive, and able to argue and influence effectively.
— Ability to juggle multiple priorities while keeping focus on key objectives.
— Strong English proficiency.
— Experience in behavioral design is a huge plus.
