Game Designer Hybrid (Game Designer + GUI Designer)

OnePlusOne Solutions is looking for a Hybrid Game Designer who combines strong game design skills with the ability to create GUI structures, wireframes, and clear UI specifications for iGaming projects.
This is not a pure Game Designer role and not a pure UI/UX role β itβs a hybrid position for someone who understands gameplay mechanics and can translate them into intuitive, production-ready interface structures.
What makes this role different
Unlike a standard Game Designer, you will not only:
- create the game idea,
- describe mechanics and features,
- write GDD and specifications,
but also:
- design GUI layout,
- build wireframes,
- prepare scene structure,
- define UI behavior, logic, states, and flows,
- outline what each screen contains and how it interacts with gameplay.
You must understand both game logic and interface logic, ensuring they work together seamlessly.
What you will do
1. Game Design
- Develop game concepts, mechanics, core loop, themes, and features
- Write structured GDDs, feature specs, and game flow documentation
- Define win conditions, progression, bonus systems, volatility concepts
- Describe interactions, states, transitions, and gameplay UX
- Create concept pitch decks and USP definitions
2. GUI & UX Design (core focus of the hybrid role)
- Build wireframes and layout structures (Figma/FigJam)
- Define GUI for all gameplay scenes:
- reels/spin scene
- balance panel
- buttons, states, pop-ups
- bonus screens, autoplay menu, rules, win screens
- Create UI specs: sizes, behavior, states, transitions
- Prepare visual direction for UI (moodboards, screen references)
- Ensure interface clarity, hierarchy, and consistency
3. Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with Art, PM, and Development teams
- Ensure consistency between gameplay mechanics and user interface
- Provide clear documentation for production
- Support teams during implementation
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Game Design or hybrid Game/UI roles
- Strong understanding of iGaming (slots, bonus games, mini-games)
- Ability to design clear mechanics and player flows
- Experience creating wireframes and GUI layouts (mandatory)
- Proficiency in Figma / FigJam
- Ability to create asset lists, scene breakdowns, feature maps
- Understanding of UI/UX logic within interactive games
- English: Upper-Intermediate (B2+)
Nice to have
- Experience with PlayCanvas or Unity
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Ability to create simple mockups (not final art)
- Understanding of animation triggers and UI behavior in games
