Head of Affairs (Payments)

🚀 Mission

We’re building advanced financial infrastructure for high-growth global payments. As we expand across multiple jurisdictions, we’re looking for a senior leader to own our regulatory, compliance, and governance foundation.

Although the job title avoids the word Legal, this is fully a senior legal leadership role within a fintech/payments environment.

You will shape the frameworks that support licensing, risk management, partner onboarding, high-risk operations, and long-term regulatory strategy.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Lead all regulatory, legal, and governance functions across global payment operations
• Provide strategic counsel on licensing, regulatory frameworks, and market entry
• Oversee drafting, negotiation, and management of commercial, partner, and vendor agreements
• Design and uphold internal policies for AML, KYC, data protection, and risk management
• Coordinate with regulators, external counsels, banks, ISOs, and compliance partners
• Anticipate risks, ensure legal robustness, and support fast but compliant company growth
• Build scalable governance processes as the company expands into new markets

🧠 Ideal Profile

• Extensive experience in financial services law, payments, fintech, or regulatory governance
• Strong understanding of legal/ regulatory requirements across the EU, UK, and/or MENA
• Hands-on experience with compliance frameworks, licensing pathways, and high-risk operational environments
• Ability to work in fast-moving, high-autonomy environments
• Excellent communication skills and ability to advise C-level stakeholders
• Business-oriented mindset with the ability to balance innovation and legal precision
